GATHER X SISTERWOMAN (2025)
For my Berlin debut, I presented a site-specific culinary concept inspired by the poetry and political legacy of Audre Lorde, whose years in Berlin continue to shape conversations around migration, identity, and resistance in the city. Framed as “soul food in conversation,” the project explored food as a medium for storytelling and cultural exchange, connecting Black American culinary traditions with Berlin’s layered histories and contemporary creative communities.
Through a playful and sensory-driven menu, I reimagined familiar ingredients such as cabbage, mustard, and curry to investigate where culinary traditions overlap, evolve, and resonate across geographies. The resulting experience was rooted in memory, ancestry, and experimentation, inviting guests into a dialogue between food, identity, and place.
