COMMUNITY CARE PACKAGES WITH VITACOCO

I collaborated with Vita Coco to distribute 50 self-care boxes to members of the Sisterwoman community, offering tangible support during the difficult winter months. The project, alongside my e-book The Sad Cookbook: Simple and Delicious, address seasonal emotional challenges—what is often referred to as the “SAD season”—and to cultivate resilience, care, and joy within the community.

Each box was designed as an extension of my ongoing practice, which explores nourishment, ritual, and holistic wellbeing as tools for cultural and personal care. Alongside the boxes, participants were invited to access further guidance and conversation through a live session with psychotherapist Shomicita from Lafiya Health.

The project foregrounds the intersections of food, ritual, and mental health, creating spaces—physical, virtual, and conceptual—for reflection, self-care, and communal support. By offering these boxes and resources, the initiative sought to address isolation, foster agency, and celebrate care as both practice and practice of resistance.
