BLACK VEGAN FEST

Online Festival

Black Vegan Fest is a two-day festival of talks, screenings, workshops, and culinary experiences designed to support and inspire plant-based living beyond trends like Veganuary. The event centres Black voices and perspectives in the plant-based movement while remaining open and accessible to all, creating a space for alternative conversations about food, culture, and wellness.

The pilot edition took place in 2021 during the COVID-19 lockdown and was a follow-up to the successful in-person Black Vegan Taster Day in 2020. It featured a virtual marketplace, food vendors providing meal kits and takeaway, cookalongs, panel discussions, and screenings. By combining education, community engagement, and shared culinary experience, Black Vegan Fest foregrounded the social, cultural, and environmental dimensions of plant-based living, providing sustained support, connection, and empowerment at a time of physical distancing.
